President Trump signs order barring transgender from Women's sports
President Trump have signed an executive order on Wednesday aimed at prohibiting transgender women and girls from competing in women's sports and directing agencies to withdraw federal funding for any schools that refuse to comply.
"Keeping Men out of Women's sports", the title signed on National Girls and Women in sports Days. President Trump is relying on Education Department to achieve the directive's end through a revised interpretation of deferal civil rights laws. Schools that do not follow these laws will lose federal funding.
The order also contains a push toward International level Olympic Committee to make similar changes at international level maing eligibility "determined according to sex and not gennder identity or tesetosterone reduction."
The Congress enacted Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, which requires that no person be excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or subjected to discrimination on the basis of sex under "any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance." The Biden administration had put forth a rule last year made discrimination or harassment based on sexual orientation or gender identity a violation of federal civil rights law, but last month a federal judge vacated that regulation, providing Trump officials a path back to using the Title IX standards set in Mr. Trump's first term.
Connecticut's attorney general, the Democrat William Tong, said in a statement,"Trump is going to try to tell us we have two choices, to either inflict terrible harm on Connecticut families or accept the consequence of his lawless draconisn threats."
"We need to remember there is always a third option - to stand together and fight back," Mr. Tong said.

Merz will take EU 'to its grave,' said Scholz
Germany's role in EU has become a central point of battle between candidates in the country's national election.
"Friedrich Merz is running to bring Europe to its grave," German Chancellor Olaf Scholz declared in a debate in Bundestag on Tuesday.
“This Federal government has been more negligent in its dealing with Europe than any before,” Merz fired back later in the debate. "Never before has a German government been meet with so much criticism and so much contempt in Brussels."
Though elections in Germany were not usually won or lost on the issue of country's relationships, but Germany's role in the bloc has become a key battle between scholz and Merz, which Scholz attcked Merz for his plans to reject asylum - seekers at the border. Scholz argues, that would go against EU law and undermine European Solidarity at a time when Germany most needs the Eu to confront the US President Trump's threats.
Scholz explained, "If there is one country that benefits from a united Europe like no other, it is Germany. If the European Union is targeted by American tariffs, as is already happening with steel and aluminum, then we are more dependent on European solidarity than any other country. Do you think this solidarity will arise if Germany willfully breaks European law, if Germany closes its borders?"

Europe fears Trump - Putin 'Dirty deal'
Europe fears a 'dirty deal' is about to be made to end the war in Ukraine on terms favorable to Moscow without Kyiv's involvement as US President Donald Trump made a 'lengthy and highly productive' phone call with Valdimir Putin.
President Zelensky on Tursday said Ukraine would not accept a peace deal negotiated by US and Russia alone. He doubt the policy that have largely held over three years of Russia's full - scale invasion, "nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine.", while express that it was "Not pleasant" that US President Trump spoke with Putin before calling Kyiv. Kaja Kallas, the European Union's foreign policy chief, stands with Zelensky, warned against a "quick fix" and a "dirty deal" to end the war, saying Europe and Ukraine must be at the table and no peace deal can be implemented without their involvement.
President Trump and his subsequent announcement that negotiations would begin immediately on reaching a deal in Ukraine, blindsided European leaders and threatened to leave them with the grunt work of funding and overseeing any settlement. This made the European members of NATO looks a whole lot more uncertain. Since the foundation of the alliance is Europe relying on the US nuclear umbrella, the deplyment of sizable US military contingents in Europe and vast US defense budget and weapon pipeline.
In other words: Wahington will do the deal and may get paid in rare earth minerals by Ukraine as Trump has demanded, and Europe will pick up the tab.
