Another restriction on Harvard?
"Detrimental to US"

A further escalation from the White House towards the nation's oldest and wealthiest university was signed by President Trump after a federal court in Boston blocked the Department of Homeland Security from barring international students at Harvard last week. The order would suspend for an initial six months the entry into the US of foreign nationals seeking to study or participate in exchange programs at Harvard. Trump declared that it would jeopardize national security to allow Harvard to continue hosting foreign students.
International students, 27% of the Harvard population, were subject to a different legal authority this time. Trump invoked a broad federal law that gives the president authority to block foreigners whose entry would be 'detrimental to the interests of the United States'. On Wednesday, he cited the same authority when announcing that citizens of 12 countries would be banned from visiting the US and those from seven others would face restrictions. Trump connected the policy to the recent violent attack in Colorado against rally-goers calling for the release of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.
