Cocktail attack in Colorado

Another Hate Crime

EZReview June 3rd, 2025

Mohamed Sabry Soliman, identified by the law enforcement, was accused of throwing  Molotov cocktails at a crowd of US Jews in Boulder, Colorado, causing twelve 52 - 88-year-old burn injuries on the beginning of the Jewish holiday Shavuot. The oldest victim in this attack is a Holocaust survivor. Farkas, the president of the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, said what was supposed to be a holiday celebrating the establishment of law and order was marred by the weekend violence.

"The community is terrified," Farkas said.

The suspect was an Egyptian citizen who had overstayed his tourist visa, and appeared in court on Monday for less than five minutes via a video feed from the Boulder County Jail. In an interview after his arrest, Soliman told police he had been planning the attack for a year, which took place after his daughter's high school graduation. He told the police that he wants to kill all Zionists and would carry out the attack again, because they need to stop taking over 'our land'.

The transgression of individuals' 'Justice' was ever more intense. In 2023, anti-Jewish hate crimes rose 63% to a record 1,832 incidents. Last year, religious hate crimes rose 18%.

L.A. Mayor Karen Bass was quick to denounce the attack Sunday as an atrocious affront to the very fabric of our society and our beliefs here in Los Angeles."LAPD is conducting extra patrols at houses of worship and community centers throughout LA. Anti-Semitism will not be tolerated in this city."
